Bro. Justin Dixon, Director of Youth Ministries

In late 1999, Bro. Justin ventured over from Lowndes County to become a member of Catoma Baptist Church. As a young man, he enjoyed many years of the various church offerings, ranging from Youth Group, Sunday School classes, and Wednesday night Bible study before growing into roles on both the Pastor Search and Nominating Committees. However, he found his true church calling in January of 2005, when he began serving as Director of Youth Ministries. Since that time, he has branched out into other areas whenever he is needed; this has included Upward programs, fund-raising ventures, Small Groups meetings, various Camps, Mission trips, and has, on more than a few occasions, heeded the call to fill the pulpit in a pastoral function.

Justin Dixon was born, raised, and now, makes his home in the small community of Burkville, Alabama. He graduated from Lowndes Academy in 1998 and furthered his education at Troy University, Trenholm State Community College, and Shelton State Community College.

Bro. Justin has followed the Apostle Paul’s example of serving God in a bi-vocational position. While Paul was a tent-making preacher of the Word, Justin concurrently works full-time for the State of Alabama, while serving the congregation of CBC. He also has the privilege of serving his community in his position as Assistant Chief of the Burkville Volunteer Fire Department.

After marrying his High School sweetheart, Jennifer Johnson, in January of 2006, their union has resulted in two beautiful daughters, Emmaline Grace (7) and Emery Claire (3), both of whom are now legacy enrollees at Lowndes Academy. They also share their home with a very energetic Boxer named, Dutchess Marley (1).

In his spare time, Justin enjoys turkey hunting, cheering on the Auburn Tigers, and attending Lowndes Academy sporting events. His considers his calling in life to be, “Love people as Jesus did, where they are and how they are, and to connect them to the love that God has to offer them.”

Finally, he would like to offer the following verse as advice for consideration when contemplating a life of service: “Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
